K–8 Spanish Enrichment
Building a Gateway to Global Connection
Our Spanish Enrichment program is one of the most distinctive offerings at THAS. Starting in Kindergarten and continuing through 8th grade, every student builds a meaningful foundation in the Spanish language — an invaluable skill for their future.
We believe language learning opens hearts and minds. Through immersive, joyful instruction, our students don't just learn words — they gain a window into a rich tapestry of cultures and a bridge to connect with their neighbors and the broader world.
No Experience Needed
Our program welcomes all students, regardless of prior Spanish knowledge. We start from the ground up with fun, engaging methods.
Integrated Learning
Spanish is woven throughout daily subjects — science, art, math — so students absorb the language naturally in meaningful contexts.
Cultural Understanding

Standards-Based Learning
THAS utilizes Standards-Based Learning (SBL) for instruction, assessment, grading, and academic reporting. This approach ensures students demonstrate their understanding or mastery of the knowledge and skills they are expected to learn. By building on prior knowledge, SBL fosters high academic expectations and supports students in grasping new concepts effectively.
At THAS, we offer a well-rounded academic program for all students. While we prioritize academic excellence, we also emphasize the importance of cultivating an appreciation for various aspects of life both inside and outside the classroom.
The Multi-Grade Advantage
Our multi-grade classroom model is a cherished strength of small Adventist schools. Younger students learn from older peers. Older students deepen their own understanding by teaching. The result is a family-like environment of collaboration, empathy, and leadership at every level.
This model mirrors the one-room schoolhouse tradition while incorporating modern, differentiated instruction techniques that meet each student where they are.

The Community Farm Connection
For years, THAS has been fortunate to have Templeton Hills Community Farm right next door — and an even closer relationship with Matt, the farmer who runs it. Students have had the opportunity to get their hands in the soil, work alongside him, learn where food comes from, and develop a genuine appreciation for the land and the work it takes to grow something.
This isn't a formal curriculum program — it's an authentic, organic partnership built on relationship and a shared belief that kids thrive when they're connected to the real world. The farm has been a gift to our school community, and we're grateful for it.
Now, we're excited to take that connection a step further with our new Hot Lunch Program — designed to help students experience the full journey from farm to table. Fresh, wholesome meals that make the lesson tangible.
Every student receives a fresh, farm-inspired hot lunch Monday through Thursday — at no additional cost. It's nourishment for the body and a living lesson in where food comes from.
Beyond the Classroom
Adventurers Club
The Adventurers Club is a program rooted in our close partnership with Templeton Hills Adventist Church — our sister church right down the road. The club originated through the church, and because of that relationship, THAS students have been able to participate and thrive alongside kids from the broader community.
Just like the farm connection, Adventurers is about taking what students learn inside the classroom and living it out in the real world — through outdoor skills, service, character building, and friendship with a community wider than their own school. The club is open to all kids in the area, which means our students get to grow alongside neighbors, not just classmates.
This is one of several collaborative programs the church offers — including Vacation Bible School and community outreach — that THAS families are warmly welcomed into. It's faith and community working together the way it was meant to.

Grace Sanchez
Principal & Lead Educator
Grace Sanchez brings more than 15 years of experience in education to Templeton Hills Adventist School. She holds a Master's degree in Education, an Administrative Credential, and a North American Division (NAD) Teaching Certificate. Her commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence is reflected in both her professional preparation and her passion for serving students and their families.
Born and raised in California, Grace is passionate about creating a Christ-centered learning environment where every child feels known, valued, and loved. She believes that every child is uniquely created by God and has the potential to thrive when surrounded by encouragement, high expectations, and genuine care.
Grace's vision for THAS is to provide a strong academic foundation while helping students develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus. She is committed to partnering with families to nurture faith, build character, and inspire a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. She believes that the greatest measure of success is not only what students learn, but who they become—young people of faith, integrity, compassion, and purpose.
One of the verses that guides her ministry is Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." This verse reflects her belief that education is about preparing students not only for academic success, but also for lives of faith, service, and purpose.
Grace lives in Paso Robles with her husband, Rich. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, running, cooking, hiking, and exploring new places.
Mr. Rojas
Teacher
Mr. Rojas received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from National University of Costa Rica. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. In his free time he enjoys traveling with his wife and son.
As a teacher, he has taught grades 1st -6th in Costa Rica and in California.
Mr. Rojas joined Templeton Hills in the school year 2026-2027. He is committed to continuing the success of the school and its students.
Lisa Edwards
Teacher's Aide
Lisa is a gifted educator who makes learning come alive through creative, hands-on projects. Her classroom buzzes with curiosity and joy, and she has a remarkable ability to connect with each student individually and inspire a genuine love of learning.
